.As part of the celebrations of 175 years since the foundation of Torbay Museum, they invited the community to choose objects for an exhibition. One item chosen was a medal which was given to British soldiers after the second Anglo Sikh War and focusing on Walter Raleigh Gilbert (a descendant of Sir Walter Raleigh). Gilbert was a Major General in the British East India Company. He commanded a division in the Second Anglo-Sikh war in the Punjab, fought between the Sikh Empire and the British East India Company.
I was contacted and assisted with providing detail regarding the medal. It will be on display when the museum reopens later this year. See the article in the Torbay Times.
